El presidente Gustavo Petro dio un emotivo discurso en el marco del Encuentro regional del Sudeste Antioqueño, el cual se llevó a cabo en el municipio de Jericó.
El pasado 14 de enero el mandatario se dirigió a la población de este territorio para hablar sobre los proyectos mineros que se vienen adelantando en la región.
La polémica multinacional AngloGold Ashanti viene realizando actividades de exploración y explotación de cobre en esta zona del país.

“El gobierno nacional privilegia el agua y por tanto detiene los proyectos mineros que la ponen en riesgo”, expresó el presidente en medio de los aplausos de los asistentes.
Esto con relación a que según mencionó el jefe de Estado, en Jericó la mayoría de la actividad minera se encuentra en acuíferos.
En este sentido anunció que buscará impulsar a este municipio antioqueño como una potencia mundial de la vida a través de la agricultura y la protección del medio ambiente.
