El mandatario colombiano sigue siendo noticia a nivel mundial.
Gustavo Petro ha venido asegurando desde la campaña presidencial que uno de sus principales objetivos es el de la lucha contra el hambre.
En ese sentido, el presidente ha manifestado en reiteradas ocasiones que se debe avanzar en el desarrollo rural de Colombia.

“Si el mundo necesita alimentos, si en Colombia está casi la última frontera agraria, según el Banco Mundial, para expandir tierras hacia la agricultura y el alimento, pues hay una opción económica, incluso de negocios, si se respetan los principios básicos que podrían construir la Paz en Colombia, que son su biodiversidad, su agua y la necesidad de democratizar las tenencias de la tierra en millones de personas que hoy llamamos campesinos”, dijo el presidente Petro en defensa de la seguridad alimentaria.
Ante esto y en el marco de la primera aparición de Petro ante la Asamblea General de la ONU, se conoció que el presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Bien, le hizo una importante solicitud.
Biden invitó al jefe de Estado colombiano a liderar, junto a Alemania, la Cumbre Global sobre Seguridad Alimentaria este martes en la Asamblea que se lleva a cabo en Nueva York.
