El presidente Gustavo Petro le respondió a la alcaldesa Claudia López que satirizó su lema de gobierno para cuestionar la estrategia de seguridad. Aunque el mandatario le dio la razón, culpó de los resultados a las anteriores administraciones y reafirmó su política.
La frase la lanzó la alcaldesa de Bogotá luego de que se presentara un atentado con artefactos explosivos en el peaje El Boquerón, en Cundinamarca, al sur de la ciudad. López señaló que esa era una muestra de la situación de seguridad que se presenta a nivel nacional y la atribuyó al Gobierno nacional de Petro.

“Lo que estamos viviendo dolorosamente es una Colombia potencia mundial del crimen, no de la vida”, señaló la mandataria capitalina. López señaló que los indicadores muestran un aumento de la extorsión, el secuestro y se siguen presentando atentados terroristas.
La alcaldesa le exigió al presidente que avanzara en la propuesta de campaña de convertir al país en la potencia mundial de la vida, como es su lema de Gobierno. Señaló que si bien apoyan las iniciativas de paz, se deben también fortalecer las estrategias de justicia y desmantelamiento de la criminalidad.
El presidente contestó a través de su cuenta en la red social X, en la que evitó mencionar a la alcaldesa. Según el mandatario, la situación de seguridad fue heredada y exhibió datos de las cifras del año 2021, previo a su posesión, del entonces presidente Iván Duque.
