En las últimas semanas se ha presentado un fuerte enfrentamiento entre el gobierno de Gustavo Petro y el exministro de Salud, Fernando Ruíz, por la reforma a la salud.
El alto funcionario del gobierno del expresidente Iván Duque, ha sido un fuerte crítico de la iniciativa para transformar el modelo de salud que impulsa la administración Petro.
En sus redes sociales se ha referido al tema, defendiendo el modelo actual y la labor que han adelantado las EPS.

A esto, la actual ministra de Salud, Carolina Corcho, no se quedó callada y respondió que, “no es cierto lo que está diciendo en un Tik Tok el ex ministro de Salud, Fernando Ruíz, que algunos tratamientos son pagados por las EPS”.
Explicó que, “el sistema de salud hoy se financia completamente con recursos públicos dado por el presupuesto general de la nación”, por lo que la función de las EPS es únicamente administrar esos dineros.
Le pidió a Ruíz que diera un debate con altura, mayor seriedad y rigurosidad.
