Desde el 30 de noviembre el Gobierno nacional y los distintos sectores laborales tratan de concertar en cuánto será el aumento del salario mínimo para el 2024.
Mientras desde unos sectores proponen minúsculos aumentos basados en el cierre de la inflación del país en 2023, desde las centrales obreras buscan que el aumento sea de casi 20%.

Según se pudo conocer, en la reunión que se llevará a cabo el martes 12 de diciembre el sector de los trabajadores propondrá un aumento del 18% al sueldo mínimo para el próximo año.
De ser aprobado el aumento, los colombianos pasarán de devengar $1.160.000, más el auxilio de transporte de $140.606, a ganar $1.368.800 más el auxilio, lo que fijaría el salario mínimo en $1.534.715, aproximadamente.
Aunque las centrales obreras proponen un gran aumento al salario para el próximo año, la mesa de negociación del monto debe aterrizar las propuestas, pues según lo que exponen los empresarios si el alza al sueldo para el próximo año es muy alta, se encarecen los costos de producción y eso desembocaría en la falta de capacidad de contratación por parte de las empresas.
Por otra parte, si el aumento es muy bajo las personas no tendrán capacidad de gasto o adquisitiva, lo que también afectaría la economía nacional por la falta de demanda de productos.
