A través de una nota escrita, el periodista de El Colombiano, Ángel Castaño Guzmán, publicó una nota sobre el escritor fallecido Arnoldo Palacios, que contrario a lo que muchos pensarían, fue escrita para minimizar, estigmatizar, y ser malintencionado con quien su legado cumple un centenario en este 2024.

El Ministerio de las Culturas, las Artes y los Saberes en cabeza del literato Juan David Correa, le rindió un sentido homenaje al escritor Arnoldo Palacios quien ha sido autor de grandes obras como «Navidad de un niño negro», «Choco. Amargo panorama», «El duende y la guitarra», «Mujer negra», entre otros.

Sus obras principalmente se basan en las poblaciones indígenas y las comunidades afro, mencionando las explotaciones por las que han tenido que pasar, la perdida de sus sabidurías ancestrales, y las muertes de estas.
Sin embargo, aunque es más lo bueno que hay que mencionar de este gran escritor, El Colombiano prefirió reducir todo a un titular que minimiza su obra, es hostil y le resta todo llevándolo a la política del presidente Gustavo Petro.

Pero minutos después y gracias a la indignación de las redes sociales, este fue cambiado.
Muchas personalidades e incluso grandes escritores como Pilar Quintana, hicieron evidente su indignación frente a un articulo tan mal intencionado, mencionando: “¿En qué universo La vorágine y Arnoldo Palacios no son grandes ni merecen ser celebrados por derecho propio?”.

Mabel Lara, periodista y actual Secretaria de Turismo de Cali, indicó igualmente que el articulo estaba lleno de sesgos, era irrespetuoso y mezquino, pero que sobre todo el legado del escritor iba mucho más allá del momento que actualmente esta viviendo el país.
¿De verdad este artículo cargado de sesgos era necesario para maltratar la historia del maestro Arnoldo Palacios? Un texto Irrespetuoso, poquito, mezquino, que desconoce a un hombre de su época cuyo legado va más allá del momento que vive Colombia.

El escritor Julio Cesar Uribe también es mencionado en el articulo de El Colombiano, por lo que en vista de la indignación causada por lo que menciona el mismo, Uribe a través de su cuenta de X solicito al periódico que retirara del articulo su mención la cual tiene su nombre y no contaron con su autorización para publicarlo.
Adicionalmente, hace un llamado a La Alcaldía de Cértegui, la Gobernación del Chocó, el Ministerio de Cultura, la Fundación Arnoldo Palacios, la familia del escritor, el sector cultural y la intelectualidad chocoana, a que le exigieran al medio su rectificación y rechazo por lo mencionado.
