Entró en vigencia la Ley de regulación de la pólvora en Colombia, después del llamado que hizo la representante Katherine Miranda al gobierno para que reglamentara esta iniciativa legislativa de su autoría.
Se trata de Ley 2224 de 2022 que busca garantizar los derechos fundamentales de la vida, la integridad física y la salud de la población, con especial énfasis en los niños, niñas y adolescentes, a través de la regulación del uso, fabricación, manipulación y comercialización de la pólvora.
Se busca con la reglamentación de estos parámetros para el uso de la pirotécnica que se disminuya el número de quemados en la temporada de fin de año, que es cuando más se presentan estos casos.

Durante la primera semana de diciembre de este año se han presentado más 150 casos de personas quemadas con pólvora.
Una de las sanciones a las que podrían enfrentarse las personas que usen de manera ilegal la pólvora es el pago de una multa entre 1 y 200 salarios mínimos mensuales.
Si por el uso indebido de estos artefactos alguien resulta lesionado, la sanción puede ir entre 100 y 300 salarios mínimos.
