Ambos funcionarios hacen parte del Comité de Seguimiento de Derechos Humanos del Concejo de Bogotá.
La grave situación de orden público y de abuso de autoridad que se vive en la capital del país en el marco del Paro Nacional, se ha intensificado con mayor fuerza en la localidad de Kennedy y específicamente en los alrededores del Portal de Transmilenio de las Américas.
Los concejales Susana Muhamad y Diego Cancino, atendieron el llamado urgente de la ciudadanía en ese sector de la capital del país, que estaba siendo intimidada y reprimida por parte de miembros de la fuerza pública.
«Cumplieron, lo que nos dijeron ayer de que la fuerza pública tenía que dar una desbandada lo hicieron», indicó el concejal de la Alianza Verde.
Mientras que la concejal de la Colombia Humana-UP aseguró que: «Es aterrador el uso desproporcional de la fuerza no solo contra manifestantes y jóvenes sino contra los conjuntos residenciales nuevamente del Portal Américas y contra la comunidad que apoya a los jóvenes y que respalda el paro».
Muhamad y Cancino dieron a conocer las lamentables cifras que dejaron los hechos del 18 de mayo en horas de la noche: «68 heridos, una persona que perdió la vista total por impacto, una persona herida de bala y una persona que perdió la nariz por una aturdidora».
