Un grupo de muchachos afines al uribismo crearon un movimiento que busca defender a esa institución.
Más que una organización, los Aguateros del Esmad son jóvenes que tienen un lazo directo con el partido del expresidente Álvaro Uribe, Centro Democrático.
Según ellos, su objetivo es darles de comer y velar por la integridad de los uniformados que «defienden a la ciudanía en las calles» de los «vándalos» que quieren desestabilizar al país.

El edil de la localidad de Usaquén, Julián Uscátegui, aclaró el por qué se llaman así: «Nos llaman en redes sociales los “Aguateros del Esmad” ¡Que así sea! Hasta el último día de violencia, seguiremos en la calle, acompañando a nuestros héroes de la Fuerza Pública».
Daniela Fajardo una de las integrantes del Centro Democrático según reza su información de perfil en Twitter, indicó en un video que «Vamos a ser los aguateros del Esmad. Los jóvenes a partir de hoy y todas las noches vamos a salir a dar agua a nuestros policías porqué merecen respeto y todo el apoyo de la ciudadanía».
